Position Paper: Stakeholder concerns around eID

DPA publishes new Position Paper on the "Proposal for a Regulation on Electronic Identification and Trust Services for Electronic Transactions in the Internal Market".

The purpose of this study by the Electronic Identification Subgroup of the Digital Single Market Group was to conduct an analysis of the Commission’s proposals, to assess the likely impact on a range of stakeholders, and to inform key decision-makers and officials in the European and UK parliaments of the findings.  The Paper contains a Summary with key conclusions expressing members' concerns, together with a list of suggested amendments, and has been submitted to officials at the Irish Presidency, with circulation more widely to MEPs, UK Parliamentarians and senior government officials.
