The focus of this meeting will be to review the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement due this week from the perspective of Internet of Things impacts. We will use that Statement to help prioritise those areas where wider awareness of fast emerging IoT and “smart” technologies could help Parliamentarians and policy makers maximise their potential for economic growth and also head off unintended consequences to proposed policy.
Discussion in the meeting will be wide ranging covering the impacts of IoT in the consumer and business areas, especially where the new capabilities enables by the sheer scale and ubiquity of interconnected sensors may bring transformational change to key areas, such as the economy, health services, national critical infrastructure, and government and civic public service delivery.
We aim to provide an arena for balanced debate across all areas and provide consensus on the core issues.
