Date(s) - 08/02/2016
11:00 - 13:00
The next meeting of the Digital Single Market Group will take place on Monday 8th February 2016 from 11.00 to 13.00 hours in London, chaired by Malcolm Harbour CBE (former MEP and Chair of the Internal Market and Consumer Affairs Committee – IMCO).
The main purpose of the meeting is to work to produce a short paper for presentation to the Ansip team that addresses the issue of platform definition, discusses the impact of cloud computing on the real economy, and also comments, with examples, on the business advantages associated with the flexibility, capacity and scalability of cloud in a sharing economy. This paper will follow up the discussions at our Brussels meeting in December and ensure that we sustain strong links with Commission policy makers. The Commission is currently very receptive to suggestions in this field, and the DPA has the opportunity to engage and propose consensual, workable solutions from its members.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to attend and/or participate in the new working groups (on data location, platforms and skills). All DPA members & registered observers are invited, but room capacity is limited and places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. An agenda and venue details will be sent to registrants in due course.
This meeting is for DPA members and registered observers only. If you are interested in becoming a member we would welcome your attendance as a taster, but before any further participation, you would then need to join us. More details are available at: https://dpalliance.org.uk/join-us/.
