The meeting report is now available from the Digital Policy Alliance’s Age Verification Group Meeting held on Thursday 22nd January 2015, 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm in Westminster, hosted by the Earl of Erroll.
A representative of the British Standards Institute delivered a presentation to the Group focused on the process and merits of creating a Public Available Specification (PAS) on Age Verification for the market sectors involved. BSI would give full support once a decision is taken to produce this fast-track standard.
The meeting also received a presentation from the ‘Age Verification Requirements’ Group (AVRG), which has been inviting evidence in support of gaining an understanding of the rationale of each stakeholder and their specific requirements through completion of a questionnaire. Information obtained is being presented in a catalogue of collaborative requirements that can be used by the steering group in determining the scope of the proposed PAS.
The DPA AV Group is focused on creating a PAS which will ensure compliance with existing legislation while allowing businesses to operate with reduced costs and improved service provision.
The Group meets again in Westminster on 27th February 2015.
