The meeting report is now available from the Digital Policy Alliance’s Age Verification Group Meeting held on Thursday 20th November, 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm in Westminster, hosted by the Earl of Erroll.
Age Verification exercise: protect your business from underage custom, and kids from inappropriate content.
At the launch meeting of the Group on 20th October, it was agreed that we should meet again to discuss and initiate forward plans intended to inform policy makers of proposed solutions that would embed trusted age verification systems in a legislative framework, with the potential production of a standard which might be applicable beyond the UK.
In progressing this decision, the Group may wish to consider a Public Available Specification, which is a fast-track standard driven by the Group but produced by BSI. Developing a PAS is a much quicker process than developing a British Standard, but it needs sponsorship. BSI can advise, conduct research and look for other related standards and professional information outside the standards arena, such as current best practice, and a joint steering group can then be formed.
